Significant experience in running requirements capture sessions, brainstorming sessions, specification and training workshops; proven experience in identifying a problem or workflow and producing convincing business cases and supporting documentation ultimately to aid in application development, system architecture, or system decommissioning.
Software Development
Expert technical Oracle SQL and PL/SQL skills, database development and design, and performance tuning; proven first hand development and design experience with complex distributed C# .Net applications; proven experience interfacing with many common external data sources and black box API's; significant development experience in VBA, XML/XSLT, Java, etc on Solaris, Linux, and Windows operating systems.
Informatics
Proven experience with chemical database technology from initial design to interfacing with COTS products through the use of third party API's or components, to sample tracking within convoluted workflow processes, and to DNA database searching, profile designation, plate formatting, and sample tracking with elaborate turn-around time calculations. I also have IT development experience with a number of LIMS, CDS, and ELN systems.
Laboratory Automation
Considerable hands-on automation experience using common laboratory instrumentation from, for example, Tecan, CTC, ABI, Waters, and Agilent, including acquisition run-file reverse-engineering, development of macros using proprietary scripting languages, and instrumentation automation using black-box API's.
